Obama’s star still shines among Indians

Last month, I saw a spike in visitors to this blog from people searching for the term “political idioms”.  I found it bizarre, but thought not much of it…that is until I was doing research for a story about the President’s Southeast Asia trip and stumbled upon an article talking about Mr. Obama and how he  still has celebrity and rock star status in India  even while  his star has dulled a bit in America.  A passage from that article stood out:

Students packed into the Hard Rock Cafe in New Delhi for a trivia contest about American politics last month, and local media noted that female students far outpaced their male counterparts in knowledge about the U.S. President, coyly referring to them as “Obama girls.”

Now wouldn’t that be something if that explained the spike? Read More about the article.
