State & Local black elected officials met with the White House
Yesterday, President Obama and senior officials from nine federal agencies, met with leaders of the National Policy Alliance (NPA), an 11-member coalition of African American local elected officials and policy-related organizations. The meeting was part of an ongoing effort, started last year, to meet and exchange information and ideas with the NPA on topics specific to the needs of local communities, and for African Americans in particular. This was the NPA’s second meeting with the president and his team.
