Things fed workers can do during the government shut down

Since it is looking like the Democrats and Republicans in Congress may not agree on how much to cut and what programs to cut before the CR (continuing resolution) which funds the federal government thru Friday lapses, it looks like we may be heading for a government shut down similar to the one we experienced in the 1990s under Bill Clinton.

Taking things in stride and not being alarmist, the Washington Post has done up an article with things furloughed workers can do on their time off.

The Going out guide staff’s suggestions include restaurants, private museums, bars and other events.

As a resident of a local suburb that is always fighting for exposure, I’d say a trip to The National Harbor in Gorgeous Prince George’s county would be a great to add to that list! The area boasts a marina, restaurants, theaters, parks and more! My family loves it and we go there whenever we can!
