Check out the reimagined new FCC beta website.
My initial impressions are that I love the new clean look, though I find it is too dark and I prefer a white background as it is more visually appealing. Something about a white platform seems more open and airy to me. Also, while I like the simplified drop down menus at top and the seemingly easier and navigable format, it is still not clear and immediately apparent what the most important things are to most users when you first log on.
For FCC practitioners, the site is probably better though initially I felt a little lost and went in circles trying to find where immediately to go to find the usual pages I visit when I am on FCC.gov. I just have to get used to it. But for the average consumer, who may only go to the website to lodge a complaint about a telecom or wireless carrier, broadcaster, cable or satellite provider, find out what the FCC does and get some basic insight and info on what the agency is working on and most concerened with right now, I think the site does the job!
