Okay, you have set yourself up to join an exhibition. But, this does not mean your company will be an instant success.
Achieving success at an exhibition takes careful planning. You can plan early on what you need and how you’re going to build one of the most important elements for the event – your exhibition stand. Aside from the stand, there are also other things you need to prepare for.
It costs quite a bit of money to get in an exhibition, so you better make it well worth your time. The key to success is marketing.
First, you need to know who your target is at the exhibition – your potential customers. Once you know your market, then you need to know how to “market”. There are tips and advice you can find online that can help you get a feel for what you need to do. Marketing need not be too difficult, just strategic. Start way ahead of the event. At the store, print up flyers to hand out to customers as they leave. Use social media and tell your friends to tell their friends and family about it, especially if the event is not in your vicinity.
Learn how to handle consumer objections to your pricing. No one ever said it was going to be easy. If you get a good handle on what it is you want to accomplish, who you want to sell to, what you want to sell to them, and what your pricing objective is, you can handle any customer and “wow” them with your product. That is what you are here to do, is it not?
Next up, after you have determined all your aspects of who, what, where, when, and whys, it’s time to make spectacular exhibition stands that will grab everyone’s attention.
You can do it on your own but it is best to work with a professional who can build or design it for you. Part of the importance of knowing who, what, where, when, and why, is knowing how you will present your brand and product to your target market. It’s wonderful to know your target market, but if you lose them on a drab stand, you may well just have stayed in your office.
Sometimes, you may have signed on too late to get a premier spot at the exhibition. That’s okay, even if you are way in the back. It’s time to shine. This is where creativity comes in hand. You want a stand, that even if way in the back, people will remember and tell others about.
Remember the saying, “Go big or go home”? Well, this is your brand’s time to shine, so make it count. It’s essential to have all the right props for your product, but what about the background, maybe some music, and more importantly – you and your staff who will be the spokesmen for your product. All of you have to be ready, energetic, and full of enthusiasm.
Remember you want to really, really make an impact on the consumers that paid to come see this exhibition, so give them what they paid for! Go for it, pull out all the stops, and remember this will help your business become a success so give it your all and your new customers will be glad you did.
Good luck!
