In recent years, there has been a push to get more brick and mortar stores and traditional mom and pop stores to expand their market by promoting their products and services online.
We digital marketers tell them to start blogging, to join social media sites and to start creating products that can be mass marketed to consumers around the nation and world.
However, recently I realized that there is a very common old school marketing tool that realtors, hair salons, dentist and doctor’s offices, plumbers and other service providers have used for years to promote themselves that could actually be remixed and used by businesses that conduct only online — you know like online clothing boutiques, bloggers, web hosting companies, desktop applications etc.
