How many times have you gone to a networking event with a friend and left it having gotten not one business care, having not made any new connection or opened up a line of communication with a potential new partner, client or customer and left feeling it was a waste of time?
Time is precious and limited when you’re working or going to school full time while also trying to nurture a side hustle or grow a budding start up. You may feel your time may be better spent working on perfecting the business or product, coding or filling out grant or loan applications or looking for pitching competitions to enter or doing online research for business opportunities.
If you are an introvert, forget about it!
The idea of going to an event with a bunch of people you don’t know and trying to establish new business relationships can be daunting and intimidating.
But it doesn’t have to be. You can be more successful if you are strategic and start attending these events with a concrete plan and not just going to them willy nilly with no purpose.
