Decoding the Pinterest ‘Fresh Pin’ and New Algorithm

A lot of people have seen a drop in their Pinterest reach, monthly viewers, saves and repins. There is a reason for this! Pinterest has updated its algorithm!

[The Social media algorithms are a way of sorting posts in a users’ feed based on relevancy instead of publish time. Social networks prioritize which content a user sees in their feed first by the likelihood that they’ll actually want to see it.]

Recently, I decided to focus my business channel on Pinterest given the fact that there is so little information on Pinterest online, in YouTube and anywhere. So I’ll take one for the team and we can grow together.

I take on this change in Pinterest in my new YouTube video where I discuss Pinterest’s new algorithm which prioritizes “fresh pins” and penalizes accounts that repin old evergreen pins.

I also tackle how this new model has essentially disrupted businesses and tools that Pinterest for Business users rely on to make their pinning mor efficient and less time consuming, specifically Tailwind and its Smartloop feature.

I also review how Pinterest is different from social media platforms & what makes it more like Google.

I talk about what Tailwind has said about its SmartLoop tool and how it suggests handling old pins users do not drop too much in reach, saves and repins.

Take a look!
