Much has been said this month about the success of Kylie Jenner reaching the $1B mark as an entrepreneur in the cosmetics space and solidifying herself as the youngest person ever to reach that pinnacle. But not too many people know about three women of color who also have $1B (or soon-to-be) make up companies
Jamaican Brit make up artist turned make up retailer Pat McGrath‘s make up company Pat McGrath Labs was valuated at $1B last year, before Kylie Cosmetics.
Last year, CNN did a feature on Hudda Kattan, an Iraqi born make up guru whose 2013-founded Huda Beauty was valuated by Forbes at a billion last year as well.
Wuzzam Supa, also known as Supa Cent, is Founder of The Crayon Case.
Last Black Friday 2018, she earned $1M in sales in 90 minutes selling her The Crayon Case online through her website and did it again recently for Valentine’s Day. At this rate, she is well on her way to $1B if she can secure sponsorship and other opportunities.
We also cannot forget Fenty Cosmetics by pop star Rihanna which recently was in the running with Kylie to get to $1B in sales.
